About me
I am an experienced bilingual journalist bridging U.S. Spanish-language media and mainstream sports journalism. I am not only a seasoned reporter with a rich legacy covering global sports, but also a mentor helping shape the next generation of media professionals.
I am a Mexican-born journalist, sometimes referred to as “Mayan Tiger” on social media. I specialize in sports and coverage of the Latino communities. My career includes roles at Univision New Mexico, Major League Soccer, HOY Newspapers, Azteca América, and La Opinión. I have covered three FIFA World Cups (Brazil, Russia, Qatar), as well as many World Series, Super Bowls, NBA Finals, and high-profile boxing and UFC title fights. I enjoy breakfast burritos, strong coffee, and horror movies.
